What is Goal Setting?

Goal Setting is an overarching cognitive process that enables people to define the changes they want to see or the things they want to achieve in their lives. Good goal setting skills is not just wishful thinking. Well honed goal setting skills enable us to set goals that are achievable, meaningful, and enable us to grow as individuals. Without strong goal setting skills and strategies, the other executive functions can struggle to manifest because there aren’t appropriate goals to drive towards.
