Chris Schulz

As a Coordinator at New Frontiers, Chris works closely with clients to develop executive function skills, advocate for their needs, and create structured learning plans tailored to their goals. With a strong background in special education and science instruction, he specializes in supporting students with school avoidance, ADD/ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), helping them build confidence and independence in their academic and personal lives.

Chris holds a degree in Child Study from Saint Joseph’s University (formerly Saint Joseph’s College), where he studied special and general education with a concentration in English. He has also conducted research on moral reasoning and decision-making in adults with ASD, further deepening his understanding of neurodiverse learning needs. Currently, he teaches Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, and various middle school science-related elective courses at Fusion Academy Long Island.

His expertise extends beyond the classroom to CSE meetings, advocacy, IEP writing, and setting appropriate short- and long-term goals for individuals. Chris takes a practical, student-centered approach—working at each client’s pace, setting real, achievable goals, and ensuring skill mastery before advancing to more complex applications.

Outside of coaching, Chris enjoys spending time outdoors with his girlfriend and their dog, whether at the beach or hiking. A longtime athlete, he has played competitive rugby in the NYC/Long Island area with Suffolk Rugby for 10 years, having first played for the SUNY Oswego Wizards. He also participates in local recreational leagues for softball and darts, embracing teamwork and competition in every aspect of his life.
