About Mary F.

A Little About Me

I earned dual certification in Elementary and Special Education from the University of Delaware and a Master’s in Literacy from LIU, and I’ve taught learners from kindergarten through adulthood. I love weaving each client’s interests into their learning to make it feel relevant, not just required.

I live in Westchester County with my husband and rescue dog. I am a mom of four young adult sons. I’m active in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and I’m always up for trying new experiences – from a pottery wheel class to dance lessons.

My Coaching Style

I believe learning sticks best when it connects to something a client actually cares about, so I look for those connections in every session. I love helping individuals – of all ages – connect what they’re learning to their lives and goals. Whether it’s a student navigating school or an adult returning to learning or seeking personal growth, I like to connect content to real-world relevance, strengthen executive functioning, and build practical study skills.

Clients describe me as creative, warm, and supportive – someone who helps them see themselves as capable, not just as people with a list of challenges. I take care to understand the unique challenges families and individuals face during difficult learning moments, and always bring empathy and problem-solving to every interaction.

My focus is ownership: I want clients to walk away feeling like the strategies are truly theirs, not something imposed from outside.

Working Together

Clients who enjoy working with me often appreciate that I:

  • Weave your interests into strategies so learning feels relevant, not forced
  • Help you build motivation and confidence in your own ability to learn
  • Bring creativity and warmth to every session
  • Focus on ownership, so skills feel truly yours
  • Meet you with patience and genuine curiosity
