About Jill L.

A Little About Me

I’ve worked as a job developer, case manager, and coach for over 25 years, supporting people of all ages through vocational, educational, and life transitions. I was trained in the Dartmouth-based IPS model (Individual Placement & Support), which means I bring real hands-on experience with everything from resume writing and job development to on-the-job coaching and behind-the-scenes support. I hold a Master’s in Education & Counseling from the University of Phoenix, and I’ve worked across schools, state agencies, and community mental health centers, including as a State Rehab Counselor in Madison, WI, where I managed a caseload of over 150 clients pursuing vocational or educational goals.

Outside of coaching, I’m a yoga and breathwork teacher, and I bring a lot of that same grounded, calming energy into my sessions, especially before a big interview or placement. I’m endlessly curious, with interests in botany, anthropology, and psychology, and (this one usually surprises people) I’ve also studied acupuncture, herbal medicine, and massage therapy.

My Coaching Style

My coaching style is supportive and structured, but it always starts with meeting you exactly where you are in the moment, not where I think you should be.

I love helping people brainstorm possible paths forward, whether that means researching options, connecting with real-world opportunities like job shadows and company tours, or simply talking through what’s actually important to them.

I especially enjoy working with clients who aren’t yet sure of their path. I’m comfortable sitting in that uncertainty with someone and helping them find the next right step, including connecting them to outside resources when that’s part of the picture.

Working Together

Clients who enjoy working with me often appreciate that I:

  • Meet you exactly where you are, without pressure to have it all figured out
  • Bring calm, grounded energy, especially before something high-stakes like an interview
  • Help you brainstorm and research real options, not just theoretical ones
  • Support you through uncertainty as much as through a clear plan
  • Connect you with additional resources and support when that’s helpful

Love is the goal, life is the journey: I want every client to feel that sense of forward motion, however winding the road.
