"When you learn to prioritize, strategize, and adapt, obstacles become stepping stones."
Carrie W.
As an Executive Function Coach at New Frontiers, Carrie partners with clients to provide meaningful and personalized support in academics, life management, and career development. She works closely with individuals and their families to ensure strategies are practical, effective, and tailored to each client’s unique goals. Known for her thoughtful approach and problem-solving mindset, Carrie enjoys helping clients break down challenges into manageable steps and build confidence as they move forward.
Carrie brings nearly two decades of experience in education to her role. She earned her Master’s degree in Teaching from Columbia University and her undergraduate degree in History from Tufts University before spending almost 20 years as a middle and high school social studies teacher in New York. During her teaching career, she guided students in thinking critically, improving their organizational systems, developing effective time management skills, and setting and pursuing realistic goals. Beyond the classroom, Carrie mentored new teachers, led professional development workshops, and served on several district-wide committees, contributing to a culture of collaboration and growth within her school community.
At New Frontiers, Carrie draws on this rich background to support clients in building executive functioning and life management skills that extend beyond academics. She encourages clients to explore strategies for organization, planning, prioritization, and time management while also supporting them in goal-setting, self-advocacy, and adaptability. Her experience as both a teacher and mentor allows her to see challenges from multiple perspectives, ensuring her clients feel supported and empowered to take meaningful steps toward success.
Outside of her professional work, Carrie values spending time with her family and pursuing her creative interests. She is married and the proud mom of a middle schooler, and together they enjoy visiting museums, going to the theater, walking in Central Park, and trying new restaurants with friends and family. Carrie is also an avid reader and finds joy in artistic expression through drawing and watercolor painting. These personal passions reflect her curiosity and love of learning, qualities she brings into her work with clients every day.
Through her role at New Frontiers, Carrie helps individuals strengthen organization, planning and prioritization, and time management skills, while also supporting task initiation, goal-setting, and follow-through. She is particularly skilled at helping clients find balance between responsibilities, develop strategies for motivation, and build confidence in their ability to overcome challenges. With her background as an educator and her collaborative coaching style, Carrie provides clients with the tools and encouragement they need to grow both in the present and for the long term.
