Executive Function Coach
Adam L.
"Often when you think you’re at the end of something, you’re at the beginning of something else."
Fred Rogers
Adam serves as a dedicated Executive Function Coach at New Frontiers, where he supports clients in building the systems, habits, and self-awareness needed to thrive in complex academic, professional, and personal environments. He brings more than fifteen years of experience guiding individuals and teams through meaningful growth, drawing on a rare blend of structured analysis, empathetic communication, and a deep understanding of how people learn and adapt. In his role, Adam helps clients clarify goals, translate intentions into actionable steps, and develop the confidence to sustain progress over time. He is especially skilled at supporting adults and college students navigating periods of transition, offering a grounded, organized, and collaborative presence that helps clients feel both supported and empowered.
Adam’s professional background spans learning and development, business consulting, and program leadership, giving him a rich perspective on the real-world challenges people face when managing competing priorities. He has coached professionals through high-stakes decisions, helped organizations design systems that balance productivity with well-being, and led programs that foster resilience and effective communication. Adam earned his bachelor’s degree from Bard College at age twenty and is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work at the University of Connecticut, where his graduate work centers on human behavior, counseling foundations, and strengths-based practice. These areas of study inform his coaching by grounding his approach in evidence-informed strategies, reflective dialogue, and a deep respect for each client’s individuality.
Adam approaches coaching with a balance of structure and warmth. He excels at breaking down complex goals into manageable steps, using accountability, reflective conversation, and gentle humor to help clients maintain momentum without becoming overwhelmed. His style supports clarity and self-trust, inviting clients to build sustainable habits rather than chase perfection. Whether he is helping someone rethink their workflow, prepare for a new role, or rebuild confidence after a setback, Adam brings steadiness, curiosity, and a commitment to long-term growth.
Outside of his professional life, Adam is based in northwestern Connecticut, where he values community, creativity, and continuous learning. He is actively involved in establishing a local food cooperative and enjoys spending time outdoors with his family and two dogs. His belief that growth is an iterative process—rooted in experimentation, reflection, and self-compassion—shapes both his personal and professional philosophies. Before entering coaching and education, Adam spent several years producing indie and off-Broadway theater in New York City, an experience that strengthened his appreciation for collaboration, creative problem-solving, and helping people bring their ideas into reality.
Adam’s areas of skill and focus include organization, time management, planning and prioritization, task initiation, working memory, self-monitoring, goal-directed persistence, communication skills, stress and emotional regulation, cognitive flexibility, balancing competing priorities, and developing sustainable systems for daily life and work. He is also adept at supporting clients who struggle with perfectionism, difficulty transitioning between tasks, maintaining focus, or navigating the interpersonal demands of academic and professional settings.
